Tracking your Gauge: little time savers for your swatching journey

Do you get tired of checking your gauge every time you start a new project? If you're like me and use a lot of the same yarn repeatedly, it can feel really redundant.

Tina had a brilliant idea a few months ago, since we share projects during our pattern development.

We use a spreadsheet that we share on Google Drive so we can both get to it, and log our gauge for every project into our spreadsheet.

The spreadsheet tracks the yarn, the weight, your needle size, whether you knit it flat or in the round, etc.

The more you track, the more you will notice the consistency between what kinds of gauge you get. You can also bypass your swatch if you know you've used that yarn and needle before.

Lastly, if you decide you don't want to keep a spreadsheet, tracking your gauge in Ravelry is always a good idea! I log it in the notes under that particular yarn, and also in the projects I make.
